Ever have one of those days?

I'm sat here at the computer staring at the screen.... I know what I want to write but it all gets tangled in the fog of writers block; normally I don't suffer this phenomenon because I have such an active imagination or at least I thought I had. I'm writing a novel at the same time I'm putting a script together ! I find writing the novel relaxing and enjoyable as I progress from one chapter to the next as the story comes together in a seemingly  never ending flow. I then break off the novel and continue with the script writing to give my brain a rest as the story is already written in the script. Tedious comes to mind (Laughs) Script writing is difficult as everything is visual and what is unseen you have to work a way around it?   Advice and insight given to me by a script writer friend on Linkedin and the advice taken with gratitude. It's not until you try your hand at script writing that you soon realize that unlike a novel that goes by chapter and feel

Alaska Incident; perhaps I should explain the story line:

Alaska Incident; perhaps I should explain the story line: 10 men of the Yorkshire regiment are sent as an exchange to Fort Brookes an American missile defense base isolated from civilization in the middle of Brooke’s forest Alaska. They soon become aware they are fighting for their lives with the survivors of the US Army defending Hill 352 a small elevated hill in front of a mountain pass through which the Soviets have to pass in order to break out and return to Russia. Whilst President Reagan and vice President Bush with the Prime Ministers of Canada and the UK thrash out the politics WITH President Gorbechev Peter and his men have a hard choice to make, stand and fight to prevent their escape or risk a world pandemic.  A virus and anti-virus, 160 Soviet Spetznas (Special Forces) and the worst snow storm in decades thrown into the mix will bring the conclusion of this gritty story to a dramatic climax.

Alaska Incident

Just an up-date on "What if " I have put on hold my writing of What if to concentrate on a movie script of Peter Hawthorn; Alaska Incident. Writing a movie script is more difficult than writing a novel as everything has to be visual but I must admit I am thoroughly enjoying turning this work into a script even though it can be tedious but the way it's coming along I am ecstatic beyond words. I only hope I can find a way forward to getting it to the right people once it's complete.

8 APPARITION   As I walked along the campus track leading through a common of evergreen tree’s I could smell the sweet scent of the pine needles through the night air and the warm soft breeze flowing through the branches gently swaying to and fro. A sudden crack and a rustle of foliage drew my attention to the left of me in the rough ground.  “What the hell was that?” I thought to myself only able to hear my own heart beat as it pounded within the walls of my chest trying to break out of my rib cage.  With eyes wide and feeling light headed with fear I began to strain my eyes trying to make sense of the darkness and odd shapes within the trees. Suddenly without warning I saw the movement of a dark shadow rushing towards me swiping to the sides the low branches. As it closed in on me I saw those eyes, red and glowing and sharp teeth snarling at me.  “Ohhh, shit! “ I cried out in a shriek as a squirrel emerged from the darkness in front of me stopped, turned and scurried of
