PETER HAWTHORN

THE ALASKA INCIDENT

Author’s notes

Peter Hawthorn and his friends have completed a tour of duty in Northern Ireland, Peter met Mary Macintyre a young nurse during the troubles with her daughter Kenzie, a relationship for Peter and Mary flourished once their eyes met.
Mary became the barrack nurse and Kenzie became the adopted daughter of the men of the 2nd Yorkshire Regiment.
Peter arranged for Mary and Kenzie to be sent to England out of harm’s way after being captured and tortured by the IRA.

After losing a number of men during their tour Peter and nine others are informed that they are to be deployed as an exchange with an American missile defense battery of the 5th US Army.
Northern Ireland turned these sons of Yorkshire from boys into men but what they are about to endure would prove Northern Ireland to be nothing but a bus-man's holiday.

The base in the middle of Brookes Forest hundreds of miles from the nearest populated area holds a secret but with a major storm front approaching fast, a formidable foe and a virus; these sons of Yorkshire will have to dig deep within themselves.

Only Peter and his friends stand between the survival of each other and the whole of humanity!
Peter has a choice to make…. stand and fight or flee!
The story is the second book of three and is set in November 1988; post Presidential elections in the US with President Reagan finishing off his term and the President elect George Bush senior preparing to start his own term as President.
President Gorbachev leads the Soviet Union, Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher of Great Britain and Prime Minister Brian Mulroney of Canada.

The Alaskan incident is full of violence action and gore, a complete work of fiction although the leaders of the countries mentioned are the real names of the characters to add credibility to the story.
