Is the Ukraine on the brink of an all out war?

With the illegal annexation of Russia and east Ukraine are we looking at a potential escalation of a war that could suck the rest of the Baltic states into an unjust war?

Is Russia playing a dangerous game or is President Putin calculating that with the United States in political turmoil and the UK in the midst of Brexit , NATO's future in the balance and turmoil in the west that he holds all the cards to take back the old Soviet states.

Vladimir Putin is a clever man but being smart to out wit his opponents comes with dire consequences.

We don't hear much about Ukraine's struggles to hold onto it's independence these days because of all the ever changing issues with the current President of the United States but for Ukraine the dangers and the suffering are very real and a threat to peace in Europe.

Let's imagine for a moment that the threat by Donald Trump to pull out of NATO takes effect.

What would the consequences be?

It would open up the eastern Baltic's for Putin to go ahead with his dream of a reboot of the old order of the Soviet Union, yes NATO would be weakened but the remaining member states would try to broker a peaceful outcome through the UN with little effect.

NATO in effect would try to contain the issue but without US help would be drastically weakened.

China knowing this would assert it's own muscle in the south China sea and North Korea would see no reason to fear consequences should they decide to flex their military might against south Korea. 

The UN would impose sanctions but little else, without an army to stem the spiral of out of control issues in the east and south China sea the UN would be seen as a toothless out of date group of countries trying to hold on to world order.

Cracks are already being formed in the UN and with certain countries having the power to veto only weakens the UN further.

So what does the future hold?

The US is spread across the globe in wars that have taken place for decades, the stomach for keeping the peace in those countries liberated from terrorism and tyranny waning among the member countries (Populous) 

Donald Trump has not only thrown the US political system into chaos he has thrown the world into chaos with his rhetoric and disrespect towards the allies of the US and his appraisal of the old enemies and dictators alike we face an uncertain future.

If history has taught us anything it only takes one man or in this case two men to plunge us into another world war.

Ukraine is a sovereign country and deserves the respect and protection from the rest of the free world.

To prevent a war of biblical proportion our governments in the west must and should stand up as one and this must include the United States regardless of the opinion of Donald Trump to free all Ukraine territory from Russian control.

Ukraine suffers every day and an unknown trench war continues unreported to the general public in the west.

Every country has a right to freedom and peace and the support of all free nations in times of adversity.
